Eddie Rodriguez – Kite King

Euphoria

S4 - EP7- Eddie Rodriguez
"Every time I see a kite rise into the sky, I’m reminded that joy doesn’t have to be complicated. Kites slow your mind down, pull you out of stress, and reconnect you with the wind, the moment, and yourself. They make the world feel lighter — and somehow, euphoria"

Hundreds of feet above the beach, this massive explosion of color moved through the clouds like something alive. For a moment, every problem I had became small.

Distant. Quiet. The noise in my head stopped. No fear. No pressure. No darkness. Just wonder. I stood there staring like a little kid seeing magic for the first time. And I needed to know who was behind it. Who flies a kite this big? Who dedicates their life to something this simple? Was this just fun to him? Or was he searching for the same thing I was searching for through the Angels and Demons Podcast — peace in the middle of madness? Because people are fighting real mental battles out here. Some of us are barely hanging on. Some of us already lost ourselves. The world is loud, angry, addicted, divided, exhausted. Everybody’s chasing something while quietly drowning inside. And somehow… This giant kite floating over Neptune Beach felt like rebellion against all of it. So I walked up and introduced myself. “My name’s Vinny,” I said. “I love the kite you’re flying.” That’s when I met Eddie. The man behind News For Jax. The Kite King of Neptune Beach. A guy known for flying some of the biggest kites in the world. But after talking to him, I realized the kite wasn’t really the story. The story was what the kite represented.

Bio: From the dirt roads of LA poverty to hauling freight across America, he’s lived a thousand lives before most people finish finding themselves. At 17, he was already fighting for the red, white, and blue — carrying scars, stories, and questions that never fully left him. Texas made him bigger. The highways made him wiser. But Neptune Beach made him still. Out there flying massive kites over the ocean — earning the name “Kite King” — wasn’t just a hobby. It was survival. Meditation disguised as movement. A way to quiet the noise long enough to hear the truth underneath it all. This podcast is the sound of a man piecing together the missing parts of himself in real time. Raw stories. Hard miles. Brotherhood. Chaos. Faith. Discovery. The moment you realize life looked complete… until you noticed a few puzzle pieces were gone. And once you hear it, you might start looking for your own. Short Description: Meeting Eddie, the Kite King behind News For Jax, made me realize the kite was never just about flying something massive over the ocean; it was about rediscovering the simple childhood wonder, peace, and humanity we lose somewhere between pain, adulthood, and the endless noise of life.

Magic. Yeah, magic. Call it crazy if you want. But there is something spiritual about watching a massive kite fly over the ocean while the wind screams through the sky and the sun melts into the water. For a moment, life stops demanding things from you. You’re not your trauma. You’re not your failures. You’re not the war happening in your mind. You’re just human again. Breathing. Watching. Existing. Free. And maybe that’s the answer none of us want to admit: Peace was never hiding in money, status, or becoming somebody important. Maybe peace was always waiting for us in the simple things we stopped noticing. A beach. A breeze. A childhood memory. A giant kite floating above Neptune Beach. And one honest moment where your soul finally whispers: “I remember this feeling
